God can do more with you than you can

Like a potter, God can mold you to be more of Him and His likeness. I was at a revival last night and the image of a potter with an old pot came to me. It was broken, chipped, with some holes in it. The potter sat down at His wheel, brought out just enough water to dampen the clay and make it pliable again and began to work. The process was not a quick fix and it took a while but eventually a new pot emerged from the old. This one was better suited for the task that the potter had in mind. This one had a large handle which would give him a better hold on it. It also had a larger portion in which to pour the Spirit which would fill it and allow more of Him to be poured out to others. The mouth of the pot was large so that as the Spirit was being poured out more could get in and make it an endless stream coming from Him.

This is the way that God wants us to be. Useful to Him as vessels into which He can pour the essence of who He is so that we can pour Him out to the world which desperately needs Him. If there is a void in your life, allow God to fill it! You will be amazed at how much of Him can fit in there and how much more will fit as well. Our lives could be so much more rewarding because of Him and what He can do for you and through you! Please, give Him a chance. Read only one book in the Bible with prayer, specifically Romans. He will work a true miracle in your life and through you to others. Be bold for Him and there is no way He will allow you to fail in His will for your life.

My conscience is clear, but I still feel terrible!

Have you ever felt that way? I know that I have. Even when you know that you are forgiven, it still stings your self-respect for a while. Jesus loves us and He will forgive us when we confess and repent but people are different. Sometimes they just won’t let it go, even when you ask for forgiveness and tell them you are sorry for what you did.

I think that may be what has caused and is still causing problems all over the world. Humanity’s inability to really “forgive and forget”. It happens when disagreements arise between couples, friends, co-workers, etc. It happens between nations, politicians, and colleagues seemingly on a daily basis. If we serve our Lord the way we should serve Him, these problems would not be such a hindrance in our lives.

I try to serve Him the way I am supposed to but unless I surrender my will to Him daily, I cannot do it on my own strength and certainly not by my own will. Our service to others and to God cannot be done by us on our terms but must be done according to and in obedience to His will for us to bring glory and honor to Him and His Kingdom. If we will do that in our daily lives and in business, our life and our business will prosper because He wants us to prosper and give the glory (credit) to Him who gave it to us in the first place.

Lord, help us all to serve you the way we should on a daily basis. Give us the strength of Your will to do according to it and not our own. Help us to live our lives according to Your will so that our service to You will be acceptable and will give glory to You.
