Do we REALLY need motivation to Pray?

prayer-motivationIn the situation depicted here in this picture, prayer and running faster would be helpful! But what about our everyday lives? Do we really need motivation to pray? It seems that many people do need a crisis of some kind to motivate them to truly pray to their Father in Heaven. But, why is that? Shouldn’t we be praying to Him anyway?

He is the Author of life and the Creator of everything so why not pray to Him? Don’t you believe that He could take care of whatever situation you might be in? Granted, He may do so in His own time and not as immediately as we would like, but don’t give up on God! He has never given up on anyone and He doesn’t until it is too late for them to give their lives to Him.

It is our individual choices which take us places that we enjoy or not. Our choices, not someone else’s, are the ones that we will have to account for when we face God one day. Have you considered that today? Have you thought of what you have done or said that you haven’t asked Him for forgiveness for?

You can’t hide any part of your life from God, no matter how much you may want to. He knows all about each of us, regardless of which continent you live on or how far you may be from the nearest cell tower! God doesn’t need cell coverage to find you because He never lost you! He has always been near you, patiently waiting for you to ask for Him to come into your life and help you get things straitened out.

I know that there are many of you who read this that think “My life doesn’t need to be straitened out!”; if that is true, what is working so perfectly in your life that nothing needs to be fixed? Please let the world know how you got everything figured out so we can all enjoy this freedom!

There are many who think that they have it figured out, but they are really fooling themselves. Everyone has problems of one kind or another, some are worse than others but I don’t believe that there is a person on this planet that doesn’t have some problems or at the least one problem. Life just isn’t that easy or pleasant.

Even if you have enough money that you can buy anything that you could want, without asking “How much?”; there are still taxes to pay, rent, maintenance fees for cars, houses, apartments, etc. Life just doesn’t let you have it that easy without some problems. Unless, you are one of those who is off the grid, no cell, no internet, no TV, paid cash for a small house and all that you have to worry about is utilities and food. So even with that, you still have “bills” of a sort; of course you could grow your own veggies, and unless your home is a solar powered one you still have to pay for electricity.

Living on earth is just not that forgiving as far as problems are concerned, although living off the grid entirely doesn’t sound too bad come to think of it!

Giving your heart to Jesus doesn’t fix any of these problems either. As a matter of fact, some problems may get worse especially if you tell others about your Savior and can’t keep it to yourself! We were commanded to do this, so why should you! That is why this blog exists, so that people who are searching for some of life’s answers can find them. I don’t have those answers, but God’s Word does and all you have to do is read it.

Live your life according to Scripture and in awe of our God and Creator, because if He had not made our home we wouldn’t have such a perfect place to live. I know that many of you don’t have a perfect place, but in comparison to the other planets in our solar system, earth is as perfect for us as it gets. God loves you, each and every one of you because He created you and placed you exactly where He wanted you to be!

Give your life to Jesus, pursue Him as you would a lover, learn about Him from the Word of God. When you have done these things, He will give you the peace that you cannot understand and that you have longed for all of your life. You will also be assured of a place in heaven forever and not punishment in hell.

God, in your absence there has been a bit of a problem…

In 1962 our government started pushing any reference to God and the Bible out of public school. Ever since then, our nation has been going down the wrong path in many ways. Morality has slipped away, the smartest minds have been done away with (through abortion), teen-age pregnancy increased and divorce did too.

Prior to this decision, by our supreme court justices, achievement test scores were consistently around the 900 mark (SAT), the violent crime rate was very low as was the divorce rate and teen pregnancy. What happened? We legislated God and the Bible out of the education process!

When God’s word is taken from the government hallways and from the educational halls, the entire society suffers. Our nation was begun because of religious persecution and those who wanted the freedom to practice their religion and their beliefs without it. That doesn’t mean that America was to be a repository for all the world’s religions or even man’s manufactured “religion”. America was allowed to become a nation to be a light to the world because of our belief in God, the only God and Creator of the Universe!

In becoming that light, we also provided a persecution free place for others to come. Although, we have allowed that freedom to be used in ways that were not intended when this country was founded. By allowing God’s Word to be taken out of the educational process, our nation has dimmed the light of it to a point that it is barely seen at this time. Minorities in our nation now have a louder voice than the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. I am not being racist when I say minorities, I am speaking of those who only represent about one or two percent of the population.

Our Lord is punishing our nation due to the decisions that have been made in the past fifty years and those that are still being made daily in our capital. We have been very lax in the way we have exercised our voices in government, especially those of us who are Christians. I have seen some who claimed to be Christians and  claimed that they would uphold His Word and principles when they got into office, yet once they were sworn in something happened. Their memory became so short that they couldn’t remember those promises which were made in order to be in that office.

We must either take back our country and elect officials who will put God back where He belongs or resign ourselves to a future that would have been unthinkable just sixty years ago! My mother’s generation and most of the so called “Baby-boomers” would not have stood by while their freedoms were turned upside-down like our children’s future will be. This had to be said. I am not sure how many of you who read this will act on it but I am sure if this were happening in a Muslim or Islamic controlled country, there would be armed uprisings going on! Praise God! Ask Him for His guidance for it is He who holds our future in His hand not Allah or Buddha or any of the other “gods” that are being worshiped.

Christians need to rally together, now!

Our freedom of religion and other freedoms may soon be at stake. Not necessarily from our own government but from attacks outside of it. Our country will be under attack from terrorist groups, if for no other reason than our weak economy and our thinly spread military.

God loves us all and is in control regardless of what may happen. Our lives are in his hands and have always been. Jesus is our guide and our priest between us and God. He makes intercession for us along with the Holy Spirit, although God knows what we need and when we need it. You are His creation not just a collection of cells. God formed all of us in the womb and he knows us intimately. It hurts Him every time a child is aborted before having a chance at life. The life that He intended for that child to have and fulfill. Women have the right to choose, but not to murder and that is what happens when a child, not a fetus, is aborted.

America needs to get back to its Christian heritage and use the Bible as the center of our education system, not restrict people from exercising their rights as Americans. At one time in our history and up until about forty-six years ago, prayer was allowed and encouraged in classrooms. Once that was taken away, along with the study of scripture in high school, teen pregnancies began to skyrocket, violence in and out of the school and the home went up. In short, America began to lose its way. Away from God, and away from our forefather’s dreams of a Christian nation in service to Him.

If our country can acknowledge other religions and their practices, why can’t Christians exercise their beliefs too? Our beliefs are just as legitimate and more because our God created each of us and the universe too. He is the creator, not just some prophet or wise man, and when everyone finally comes to that conclusion it may be too late. Our lives are not our own, we were created to do His will and to glorify Him and His kingdom. When we do that, He will take care of our needs since He knows what they are before we do.
