Matthew speaks (part two)

When we arrived on the opposite shore from Galilee in the Gadarenes, a man which had been living in the tombs came upon us quite suddenly! He was wearing no clothes and was possessed by devils and had not lived in a house for a long time. There were pieces of chains on his arms that showed that he had been bound but had loosed himself by breaking them.

When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell down before him and with a loud voice he said, “What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high. I beg of you, torment me not!” For Jesus had commanded that the spirit come out of him. It seemed that the spirits had caused him to cut himself and do other injuries to himself, yet Jesus asked the spirit, “What is your name?” The spirits within him said, “Legion, for we are many.”

The demons begged Jesus not so send them into outer darkness. At that place there were some herders which had a large number of pigs eating on the mountainside. The devils pleaded with Him to send them into the swine, so Jesus said: “Go!” When they did, the entire herd ran off down the mountain and into the sea where they drowned! Those who were herding them ran back to the town and told what had happened to their herd.

The people came and found Jesus and saw the man who had been possessed of demons in his right mind sitting with us and talking. They asked Jesus to leave  because they were afraid of Him. Isn’t that weird? The man that was healed of the spirits wanted to come with us, but Jesus sent him away saying: “Return to your house and tell of the things which God has done for you.” So, he did exactly that. He went round about telling everything that Jesus had done for him!

So, we got back into the boat and traveled back to Galilee and the people greeted Him gladly for they had been waiting for Him to return. Later, a man named Jairus who was a ruler of the synagogue found Jesus and fell at His feet. He begged Him to come and lay His hands on his daughter because she was ill and at the point of death, and she was his only daughter! He said that she was about twelve years of age too, so we set off toward his house but the people were crowding around Him as He went. A woman, who had an issue of blood for about twelve years, who had spent all that she had on physicians yet none had healed her, came up behind Jesus. She had thought to herself that “if I can just touch His garment, I will be healed”.

When she did this, Jesus noticed power issue out of Himself and asked, “Who touched me?” We were all astonished at this for the crowd was all around Him, yet the woman came forth and told Him of her plight and that it was she who had touched Him. He said, “Daughter, be of good faith and go your way. Your faith has made thee whole.” About this time, someone came to the ruler and said, “Don’t bother the Teacher anymore, your daughter is dead.” But Jesus heard it and said, “Fear not, but believe only.”

When we came to the house, he did not allow anyone to go in except Peter, James and John and the father and mother of the girl. There were many who were weeping and wailing and He told them to “Weep not, for the girl is only asleep.” They laughed at Him because they knew that she was dead, but He put them all out and took her by the hand and called out to her saying, “Maid, arise!”

Her spirit came again unto her and she got up right away! He told her parents to give her something to eat and they were astonished. Although He told them not to tell anyone what He had done there.

Prologue: Our Lord, Jesus, can still do miracles even today. Prayers are answered every day in ways that we may not know and in some we do. The point of this story is that Jesus can do all things. He did them when He was here with His disciples and He can still do them today. All that we have to do is believe and have faith in Him. As Jesus said, “If you have faith, even as small as a mustard seed, all things are possible”! Won’t you place your faith and your life in Jesus’ hands today?

The Awesome Power of Our Creator!

In six days He spoke the universe into being, then rested on the seventh. I wonder if anyone has ever thought that He could have done it in one day if He had chosen to? Nothing is impossible with God but what do you think of Him? He knows all of us, whether we acknowledge Him or not.

When He sent the part of Him that was the Christ to earth as a human born of a virgin, He was still God. When they beat Him, and flogged Him with the cat-o-nine tails so that He was almost un-recognizable, He was still God. When they hung Him on the cross or execution stake with nails through His hands and feet, He was still God. He could’ve called down legions of angels or even wiped mankind from the earth with a thought but He did neither of those, because He was and is God!

Our Creator, the Ancient of Days, was before time and the one who created time itself along with everything else. Our God, the One that many people don’t think is real, is more real than we are! His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not like ours. He is above us and perfect in every way. One analogy would be that He is above us as we are above bacteria and maybe even more than that!

Even being the great I AM, the God and Creator doesn’t keep Him from loving His creation, even those of us who were created in His image and then rejected Him. Your life will never be perfect on earth, but you will be able to grow toward that perfection if you will give your heart to Him and walk with Him daily. That is all He has ever wanted from us, our fellowship and our love for all that He gives us every day.

If you want to have hope and a chance at a fulfilling life for eternity, ask Him to come into your heart. He will place a small piece of Himself there and fill the void which you have felt but didn’t know how to fill. God loves you more than you can know, return that love and you will feel it in ways you never imagined.

Science, God, faith, Jesus…can they coexist?

Yes, they can! Our creator intimately and meticulously put your DNA and all of the cells which make up your body together to do mainly one thing, serve Him. Every atom in the universe was created by God. It doesn’t matter if it is in the air which you and I breathe or if it is in a cloud of hydrogen gas light years away from earth. Each being, sentient (meaning us) or instinctual (the animals) was created by Him to serve a purpose in their lives for Him. The animals don’t have a choice in their service, they do what their instinct tells them to do, no questions asked. Humans have a choice to serve or not, to follow Jesus or to follow their own ways and the way the world says is the “right” way because it feels good.

God created all of the laws of physics, thermodynamics, chemical reactions and every other “discovered” law that we have found to be immutable in the way of things and how things work. Light only goes a certain speed, no slower and no faster. There is an absolute temperature at which all molecular motion stops, there is also a temperature at which every nuclear force breaks down and molecules will fly apart. God knows these because He created them to work that way. Our cells were created to work for a certain period of time, although in the beginning we were designed as perfect and would have been immortal had we only obeyed God’s commands.

Science, no matter which one is being discussed, is an extension of the Creator Himself. Every created thing on earth now and in the past was put here by Him for a reason. We cannot know that reason, but it is there nonetheless. God’s will for us is to know Him and to serve Him, not because we are forced to do so but because He loved us enough to create us and to send His Son to die for us as payment for the sin in our lives. We all sin, even though some have covered up their sins or glossed them over with less sinful names. In some cases, our media (news, radio, television) has made us so used to them until we hardly notice them unless we are following Him and our spirit lets us know that what we are seeing or hearing is wrong.

The coexistence of God and science is not something which has to be worked on, it has been happening for hundreds of years. Until the latter part of the 19th century and the 20th century, no scientist questioned how the universe was brought into being. They just wanted to understand His ways and processes in the creation of it all and how things worked. There is nothing wrong with that. But, when your categorically dispute that there is an intelligent designer behind everything that is in the universe, you are denying the existence of God at all levels! God will not be mocked, He knows your heart and your mind more intimately than even you do. Give Him a chance in your life. Read the Bible and pray that He will show Himself to you through it while you read. You will truly be amazed at what and who you will find.  Decolores!

How can I go on?

There are many people who may be asking this question right now. What kind of advice would you give? What would you say to someone who is hurting from a loss of a family member? Or even the loss of a job?

I don’t want to give some trite words about the love of God or that the answer can be found in the Bible although both of those do apply and are true. The words that many people need to hear is that God does love you!

I know that I said I didn’t want to give that as advice but it is the truth. The only way to see these as the truth that they are is to look around the creation of God and notice the order and perfection that is there. This cannot happen because of a big bang! We did not “evolve” from chimpanzee’s or from some primordial ooze or from one-celled organisms!

God created the world in six days! I know that is something that most scientists don’t believe but with God, anything is possible! That is another one of those things that you hear that many people don’t want to hear, especially during times of loss and grief. This is the very news that everyone needs to hear!

Our lives are the miracles that everyone expects to see, although most people don’t think of our lives that way. If God decided that He wanted to remake the world today, that would be the end of it all. Unfortunately, most people don’t realize that we live because of the love and grace that He extends to us every second of our lives!

We go on because He wants us to go on with our lives. To be His creation is the ultimate joy for me because He created me and every person, every creature on this planet to serve His purpose! This is something that we all need to understand, God put us where we are at this point in time to do His will. If you don’t know or understand that, get a Bible and read it! His will for everyone, no matter where you are or what your “religion” happens to be is in that book.

He gave us the freedom to choose our way and unfortunately many don’t follow Jesus or the Bible or any of the teachings that are in it. God knows you and your decision, even before you make it. He knows this because He created you! Give Him your life, come to Him with your feelings, your problems, your grief. He knows about it already, He is just waiting for you to call Him and His phone is always on and always available. He is by your side no matter where you are or what situation you may be in. He loves you and cares for you like no one else can, give Him the chance to prove His love and you will never be disappointed and alone again!

Today is a wonderful day!

Every day we wake from sleep should be considered a glorious and wonderful day to serve our Lord! He is the rock on which I stand and the one I count on in times of stress or good times too. Our creator knew us all before we were ever born because He determines who will be born and what their life will ultimately be. In service to Him or not, truly one way or another everyone serves God in some form or fashion. Even Hitler and Pharaoh in the Holy Scriptures served Him and His purposes regardless of the cruelty they both perpetrated on the Jewish nation.

Truly, even Satan himself serves God’s purposes whether he likes it or not. I am sure he wouldn’t admit that he serves God since he wants to supplant God, but he does! Every ruler, president, dictator or prime minister serves God in some way because He is responsible for them being where they are. God dethroned Nebuchadnezzar when he became too proud of his place in the world and He can do the same today to whomever He chooses.

Our world, not just the United States, needs to wake up to the fact that God is angry at humanity for rejecting His Son. He allows all of us, by His grace, to go about our lives hoping that we will see the error of our ways and repent. How arrogant we are to thumb our noses at Him and say, “You don’t exist!”, “I can do it myself!”. I know, that sounds like a toddler or someone who just doesn’t care. Truly, if we could actually see God and feel His wrath without it destroying us, I am sure that the whole world would get on their knees and turn to Him by the millions. I am also sure that there would be some who would just ignore Him, regardless.

Our time is not long in this world. I know that many people have said that over the centuries but the events in our world are proving prophecy to be right, especially those near the end in the book of Revelation. The time is now! Don’t wait until the church, the body of believers in Christ, disappears from the earth! Because when that happens, the problems you are seeing now will pale in comparison to the ones that will come after. The series, Left Behind, was written as a fictional story but it was based on the book of Revelation and the prophecies contained in it. The horrors and other atrocities mentioned in the series could be far worse in reality, so make sure you aren’t left behind.

The story of salvation is spelled out for all

I have read a book by Dr. D.James Kennedy about the true meaning of the constellations. God outlined the path of salvation in them so that if people could understand and take the time to understand His ways, the constellations would spell out salvation for all.

In ancient times, the “pole” star was in the constellation of Scorpio which is a representation of the devil. Earth was under the influence of Satan up until the time of Christ and His crucifixion and resurrection, and it still is to a certain extent. After Christ’s time, the pole start shifted to the constellation of ursa minor. We see this as the little dipper but it is represented as a little bear in most paintings of constellations. It is actually a sheep-fold or pen, representing the church after Jesus’ time, waiting for the shepherd to come back.

God named all of the stars and placed them where they are so that they would serve their purpose of showing all the people the way to salvation. Unfortunately, the message and the constellations themselves were perverted into astrology and myth by the pagan world and that is what has caught on and become popular. Their true message, if looked at from the perspective of the message in the Bible, is an outline of salvation and the struggle between Satan and Christ and Christ’s ultimate triumph over Satan.

There is so much more to add to this, but the bottom line message is that we can be saved from our own sinful ways and the temptation which comes from Satan through the acceptance of Jesus as our savior. After that, we should serve Him and further spread His word and message to all who will accept it. He loves all of you like His own children because He formed all of us in the womb bit by bit and He knows exactly who will come to Him and when, whether you know it or not. We are not to take our lives for granted because tomorrow is not guaranteed to you much less next month or next year. Please consider the words of the Bible from John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whosoever would believe in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Believe in Jesus and the fact that He came to pay the penalty for all of our sins. He was not just a “good man or a great prophet”. He was and is the Son of God. “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him were all things made; without him nothing was made that has been made.” John 1: 1-3

Olympic sized faith!

I have been reading the autobiography of Dr. Billy Graham and his testimony of the power of God is truly Olympic in proportion! I have had God answer my prayers many times too, but never in proportion to what Dr. Graham had to happen when he was conducting a crusade in Los Angeles. God truly is awesome!!

He has to be, He is the Creator of the Universe and everything in it! There is nothing too small or too big for Him to take care of or to create whenever He chooses to do so.
