We count it and watch it, some days it seems like we don’t have enough of it yet we waste it too. So, what do you intend to do with the time that you have? How much time do you have? How much of it have you thrown away with games and silly things that don’t give you any reward? We look at a new sunrise and think that we have all day to do things when actually we have already lost six hours of that day since midnight. During the spring and fall we get two equinoxes  which give us twelve hours each of daylight and night, but as Jesus said to His disciples: “As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.” John 9:4

I was curious about the hours and minutes and seconds that we have in a day so I am breaking that down here: In one twenty-four hour period there are 1440 minutes and 86,400 seconds. We tend to use part of those for sleep of course, but the point is that our time is limited. We don’t know for sure how long we will live and yet we fritter it away as if we will have a century or more.

Life begins with our conception but our breathing life begins at birth and from that point on we begin to die physically. Of course for a couple of decades we don’t notice the breakdown of our cells and our bodies, if we are lucky or blessed to be born healthy. Some don’t get that blessing though and are born with built-in limitations, which can be a blessing or a curse depending on how we look at it as we grow. The thing to remember is that GOD DOESN’T MAKE JUNK!

Physical limitations, disabilities or whatever you may call them are just points where we need to learn to lean on God more in our daily lives. The apostle Paul had a thorn that he had to deal with while he was serving the Lord and he asked God to remove it three times, but God told him that “my grace is sufficient for you“. Paul had to learn to live with it, whatever it was and he did some mighty preaching with it until his execution.

Time is given to us in increments of seconds and minutes and hours and days and months and years, but we are never guaranteed a certain amount of time. We get our days just one at a time, and no more. This is why I try to tell people about Jesus and His mercy for your life, provided on the cross and through His resurrection so that our sins are paid for. All that we need to do is to claim this grace and mercy from God.

Once you do, then you can use the remaining days that you have telling others about Jesus in your life. We are given this time to do just that, to tell others about our Lord and Savior. This is God’s will for a Christian’s life. We all don’t have glorious and grand ministries like some on TV do. But, in telling others about Jesus we do have a ministry. Because, God loves all of His creation. He doesn’t like the sins that many seem prone to live in on a daily basis, but He loves the people anyway.

Living a sinful life is not pleasing to God, whether you are a CINO (Christian in name only) or a true, born again Christian. One who truly has had their life and heart changed by the Holy Spirit cannot comfortably commit sin because you are convicted of it when the thought enters your mind even before you do anything with that thought! I don’t mean that Christians are pure and sinless because nobody lived a life on Earth that way except for Jesus.

We can live a life sanctified by Him, washed in His blood, and our records have been wiped clean from that point on, but we will still say things, think things, and do things that are sinful. We can claim His forgiveness for those sins at the point of conviction because we are covered by His righteousness. As long as we don’t choose to go back into a life of sin and ignore the Spirit’s prompting us to stop. We are still His, but like putting a white cloth in the mud we have soiled our life and our soul. If you keep on in your sin, it will get easier to ignore the Spirit’s prompting each time until one day you won’t hear it or feel it at all.

But…God is still with you. He hasn’t left you, you are the one who moved. Come back to Him, seek Him out and He will forgive your sins and take you back. Just because you have gotten off the path, doesn’t mean that you can’t find it again. Give your life and your heart to Jesus and the rest of the journey won’t be easy but He will give you the strength to get through each minute…each second…of each day that is ahead of you.

The Messiah, do you know Him?

There are over 400 prophetic writings in the Old Testament which refer to Jesus’ birth, life, death and resurrection. He fulfilled them all! The probability of someone doing that without being the true Christ of God is over ten to the seventeenth power to one.

I don’t know about you, but that is more than enough proof for me.  His life, death and resurrection happened because of His love for us and for Israel at the time of His appearing.  God loves us all and would like for all of us to come to Him but He patiently waits for us to ask.

Your life can be so much more meaningful to yourself and to Him once you accept Him into your life. Jesus cares for us all and wants the best for us, but He will not force Himself into your life. He has to be asked to come in, like a visitor to your home. Although, when He comes into your heart, He will change your life in ways that no other visitor could. Give Jesus a chance in your life, He will make you into the person that you were meant to be!

Our time is short but His message is timeless

God is the creator of the Universe regardless of what science tells people. He placed the stars and galaxies exactly where He wanted them to be and they will stay that way unless He says otherwise. Our lives should be the same. We should strive to do His will in our lives and in the place where He has placed us. Non-believers, take heart, God loves and cares for you too.

He is only waiting for you to decide to place your faith in Him. He knows exactly what you need and when you need it. Your life is in His hands and always has been, because He formed you in the womb! He knows exactly and perfectly about you. More intimately than anyone on earth could ever know you is the way that God knows you.

Don’t put off your decision to join in partnership with Him. Jesus stands at the door of your heart and knocks, gently. But, He knows exactly when you will answer. Give Him that answer soon, won’t you? God doesn’t love you because of what you have done in the past, He loves you because of who He created you to be! He knows what you can do for Him and His kingdom and the limitations that you may have, but He also knows how much you can accomplish that someone else may not be able to do.

We are each given a measure of talents and gifts by God to be used in His service, with no regard to our present circumstances. He knows exactly what you can and cannot do and will give you the words to say when they are needed.

Do what you can for Him while you still have the time to do so! He will reward you with far greater value than earthly things can be measured.

Life in our time

We should be grateful and humble that we are living in this time and in the United States of America. Our lives would be totally different had any of us been born in another country. I do realize that there are some who may read this from other countries so please forgive me for sounding like I am a bit too proud to be an American.

Our country and the world around us is in a financial mess that is likely to get worse far quicker before things get better. I am not a financial guru so I cannot give advice, though many people do that these days and their advice is not much better than what most have heard their grandparents say. Which was good advice but only if it is followed. The place that most of their generation got their knowledge from was the Bible and that is where we need to go back to. There are people who claim to be atheists or even wiccans who when faced with something that they know their belief doesn’t address they will call on God. How do you think He feels about that?

His patience and love for us cannot be understood unless we read the Bible where it is shown over and over again to the Jews but also extended to the rest of us, the Gentiles. Our life would not be what it is if He did not love all of us. We would likely be very different people than we are because He would have started over. He is the creator after all and can do anything He wishes to do with His creation.

The attitude of some against Christians as well as the beliefs we have is unbelievable to most of us. Of course the world doesn’t accept us because it rejects anything which makes it accountable for its actions, good or bad. It is truly sad to think that the only way that most of the world who aren’t Christians will ever see us as we are will be at the throne of Christ when He returns.

How much is too little?

Do you have the time to give to God? He gives us twenty-four hours in each day and all He asks for is a bit more than one hour in the morning and in the evening before bed. Do we give Him that? Most of us don’t unfortunately. I give Him my time while writing here and at my blogspot.com blog of the same name, but I don’t post here everyday.

I am sorry to say that my life, or my perception of it gets in the way of my service to Him. I have to ask His forgiveness for this everyday and sometimes I just don’t. I see my responsibilities to my family and the things I do for them as more important. They are NOT! My service to Him and His kingdom is more important than anything that I can do for my family.

We are a weak race of people, the human race not Caucasians, African-Americans, Indians, etc. These just separate us by skin color and culture and sometimes religion. But we are all of the same race, God made us that way although we can’t see it that way most of the time.

Our lives, our service to God and to our fellow man should be our way of life. Our religion should be to follow Christ’s example of service to each other not for ourselves. Selfish desires have caused far more pain and suffering in the world than all the war and disease combined. Religious wars and disputes have also caused their share but most of the real suffering was due to selfishness and greed.

Don’t let your life be defined by things that don’t belong in it. God put you where you are for a purpose, His purpose! Every person, every animal, every plant, and every microbe on this earth does the will of the Creator at one point or another. The human race is the only one that has the free will to do otherwise. He gave us that free will so we would come willingly to Him when He calls us.

If you are feeling that call or have heard it and not responded please consider doing so. God will bring you to Him once the call has been sent. You will answer Him but if it is a negative answer, you may not like the consequences afterward. He is not a vengeful God, but like your father here on earth He expects to be obeyed when He calls. Give your life to Him willingly and you will never regret it, I haven’t. He has taken care of my family’s needs ever since I was told I wasn’t needed at a former job almost two years ago. He will take care of yours too! Give Him the chance and He can make your life more than you ever thought it could be. It won’t be because of you, but because of Him.
